What is a public website leaderboard?
It is a public list of websites with a rank you can check. OutbidMe’s list is ordered by the amount paid for each listing. Votes exist as a score. They do not take #1.

The short definition
A public website leaderboard is a page anyone can open that shows named sites in an order. The order has to be a rule you can state in one sentence. If the rule is hidden, it is a curated list, not a leaderboard.
On OutbidMe the sentence is: rank is the listing amount. Rank #1 is whoever paid the most. Category boards use the same rule for one topic each.
What it is not
It is not a search-engine ranking. Google does not use this board to order results. It is not a cash prize, a bet, or a lottery. Paying more buys a higher listing on this site. It does not pay you out.
- Votes never reorder the board or remove #1.
- There is no round, season, or expiry that resets rank.
- A live listing is recognition on the board, not a shipping product.
Why people use one
Founders put a site on a public board so other people can find it without an ad account. The trade is honesty: visitors can see what #1 cost. If that is the wrong trade for you, a directory or a launch thread may fit better.
