Frequently asked questions

Direct answers about paid promotional placement. Rank is the amount paid. This is advertising inventory, not a prize.

What do I actually get?

A public promotional listing: your name, title, and link on a digital advertising board. #1 is the top placement. You do not receive a cash prize, investment return, or monetary reward.

How much is #1 placement?

The #1 listing on that board plus 1 unit of the claim currency. The same step is used on the homepage, a category, and Today. Votes do not change it.

Do votes remove the #1 listing?

No. Votes never remove #1, reorder the board, or change the published #1 price. Listed customers can score other rows up or down. Nobody is paid because of a vote.

How is the published #1 placement price calculated?

The server computes it as the current #1 listing on the board you are viewing, plus 1 unit of the claim currency. An empty board opens at 1 unit. You cannot type a lower number, votes do not move it, and there is no private discount below it.

Can I raise without buying a new listing?

Yes. Sign in with Google or a magic link on the email that owns the listing, then pick a new target at least $1 higher. You pay only the difference. A new listing checkout uses a 6-digit email code and does not require sign-in.

What happens to my listing if someone outranks me?

It stays on the board at the amount you paid, one place lower. Nothing is removed and nothing is returned to you, because the placement you bought was delivered when the row went live. If you want the higher position back, raise the same listing by paying the difference to a new amount.

Does a listing expire?

No. There is no round, no season, and no renewal date. A listing holds the rank its amount buys until another listing passes it. Rank is that listing’s own current amount, not the total of everything you have ever paid.

Who can vote, and does the score change rank?

Voting needs a row on the board, so only listed customers can vote, and not on their own listing. One vote per listing, and you can change it. The score is public. It does not change rank, does not change the published #1 placement price, and does not pay anyone. A listing with a low score keeps the rank its amount bought.

Do I need an account to buy a listing?

No. A new listing asks for an email and a 6-digit code sent to that address, which proves the mailbox before checkout. Sign-in matters only afterwards: to raise a listing you sign in with Google or a magic link on the same email, then change the amount from My listing.

What am I allowed to list?

A name, a title or description, a category, and one public link. Websites, products, companies and personal profiles all use the same rule. We refuse or remove listings that are unlawful where either of us operates, that impersonate someone or claim an affiliation they do not have, that are sexually exploitative, or that present OutbidMe as gambling, a lottery, an investment, or a prize pool. Removal for breach is not refunded.
