Public rankings vs directories
Directories help you browse. Rankings tell you who is ahead and why. Mixing the two is how sites overpromise. OutbidMe is a paid ranking, not a free catalog of every startup.

Directory
A directory lists sites by topic, tag, or editor pick. Order is often alphabetical, newest, or “featured.” Featured usually means paid or staff-chosen. That can be useful. It is not a rank you can audit.
Public ranking
A public ranking publishes the sort key. Traffic, GitHub stars, revenue, or — here — the listing amount. Visitors can disagree with the key. They should not have to guess it.
What OutbidMe is
OutbidMe is a public ranking of paid homepage listings. Categories group the same rule by topic. We do not claim to be a complete startup directory. If a site has not paid, it is not on the board.
If you need a catalog of every tool in a niche, look at a directory. If you want a live, paid order with a public price, open the board.
