Compare public leaderboards
“Leaderboard” is used for four different products. Only one publishes a sort key you can check. The others can still be useful. They are not the same purchase.

Paid public ranking
A public ranking shows named sites in an order and states the rule. On OutbidMe the rule is the listing amount. Rank #1 is whoever paid the most. Votes are a score. They do not take #1. Anyone can open the board and see what the current rank cost.
- Sort key: amount paid, published on the row.
- You buy: a named listing on this site, until someone pays more.
- You do not buy: traffic, a Google rank, or a cash prize.
Directory
A directory is a catalog. Order is often newest, A–Z, or “featured.” Featured is usually a sales slot or an editor pick. Useful if you need to browse a niche. Not a rank you can audit, because the key is hidden or mixed.
Launch thread
A launch is a timed post: votes, comments, a burst of visitors. Rank there is usually community votes or staff placement, and it resets when the thread ends. Good for a first audience. Bad if you wanted a price that stays on a page until someone outpays it.
Paid ads
Ads buy impressions on someone else’s property. The ranking of the ad auction is not a public leaderboard of websites. When the budget stops, the placement stops. A listing here stays until a higher payment replaces it.
Which one to use
Use a directory if you want to be findable in a catalog. Use a launch if you need a one-day audience. Use ads if you can measure a click. Use OutbidMe if you want a public, priced rank on a website leaderboard and you are willing to be outranked.
